Complete medical check up for a married woman

Na asyik bertangguh.  Patut lepas bersalin dah buat tapi cuma last week Na paksa diri buat appointment.  Na pilih Dr Idora Mohamed, from Pantai Medical Center.

Breast examination

First sekali, Doktor buat breast examination.  Boleh je buat sendiri macam pics kat atas tapi it's even better to refer to Doktor right?  Mungkin kita terlepas pandang or etc.  So, Doktor said my boobs are OK.  There's no sign of abnormality.  Alhamdulillah.

Breast self-examination (BSE) is a screening method used in an attempt to detect early breast cancer. The method involves the woman herself looking at and feeling each breast for possible lumps, distortions or swelling.  BSE was once promoted heavily as a means of finding cancer at a more curable stage, but large randomized controlled studies found that it was not effective in preventing death, and actually caused harm through needless biopsies and surgery.

Pap Smear

Then Na buat pap smear.  Yang nie Na cemas sikit la sebab Na takut sakit.  Huhuh, Na bersalin c sect sebab baby breech.  So takde pengalaman kena 'seluk'..  Tapi Doktor Idora sangat soft.  Tak sakit langsung.  Rasa sejuk jek.  Result akan keluar after one week.  And Alhamdulillah, result pap smear Na = normal.  So, next Na akan buat lepas 3 years or as soon as after give birth for another baby. (whichever comes first)

The Papanicolaou test (also called Pap smear, Pap test, cervical smear, or smear test) is a screening test used in gynecology to detect premalignant and malignant (cancerous) processes in the endocervical canal (transformation zone). Changes can be treated, thus preventing cervical cancer. The test was invented by and named after the prominent Greek doctor Georgios Papanikolaou. An anal Pap smear is an adaptation of the procedure to screen and detect anal cancers.

Guidelines on frequency of screening vary—typically every three to five years for those who have not had previous abnormal smears.[1][9] Some older recommendations suggested screening as frequently as every one to two years,[2][dead link] but acknowledge that most women can be screened less often.[10] Some guidelines recommend more frequent screening for younger women; for instance in Great Britain, screening is recommended every 3 years for women under 50, and every 5 years for those over.

Transvaginal ultrasound

Lepas siap buat pap smear.  Doktor suggest Na buat transvaginal scan nie.  Untuk kesan any abnormality kat bahagian peranakan wanita.  Yang nie pun tak sakit, and bila Doktor dah masukkan tool tue kita leh nampak rahim etc.  Yang nie pun Alhamdulillah sangat baik.  Takde lebihan darah haid atau any abnormal findings.  Syukur.

Transvaginal ultrasound is a type of pelvic ultrasound. It is used to look at a woman's reproductive organs, including the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and vagina. Transvaginal means across or through the vagina.
Transvaginal ultrasound may be done for the following problems:

1) Abnormal findings on a physical exam, such as cysts, fibroid tumors, or other growths
2) Abnormal vaginal bleeding and menstrual problems
3) Certain types of infertility
4) Ectopic pregnancy
5) Pelvic pain

Na rasa semua wanita yang dah berkahwin patut buat kesemua pemeriksaan di atas.  So that kita dapat kesan sesuatu penyakit, if any awal2.  Then boleh cuba ubati sebelum terlewat.  Namun, ajal, maut tetap di tangan Ilahi.  Andai kata umur Na pendek, Na dah tinggal wasiat di sini.. :(
